SOLD *** Early 1900s W. J. Palmer Stone Burr Gristmill
Fully reconditioned antique Palmer experimental 20 inch stone burr mill, serial number 106 X, complete with side sifter. This mill, lined with stainless steel, has all original wood, all original cast components, and the babbitt bearings are in perfect shape. The stones are newly dressed by Meadows Mill Company.
This stone burr mill is excellent for grinding corn to make grits, cornmeal, and corn flour. It can also be used to grind flour, rice and oats.
The metal mechanical parts of this mill are functioning perfectly. Originally sold under the brand Universal, this experimental “short frame” mill features an opposing end pulley, early babbitt enhanced blower and grinding selection dial.
This mill was completely disassembled, all parts examined and stripped of original lead-based paint, and newly coated. The shaft, eccentric sifter, hopper, grain flow regulator, shoe, sifter, and grease cups work as designed. No broken cast parts.
This mill is in excellent condition and would be perfect to add to any collection or put to work immediately.
